William (Bill) Marion Jr.

Beloved husband, son, father and grandfather William (Bill) Marion Jr. of Montrose, CO passed away at home on October 5, after a fierce battle with cancer. He lived in Alamosa for 8 years, 18 years in Woodland Park and many years in Colorado Springs. Bill was born October 12, 1938 in Decatur, IL to William Marion Sr. and Neva Holman. He served in the Naval Reserves.

He is survived by his wife Judith (Armstrong), sons Dwayne and Doug, granddaughters Madeline and Sylvan, brother Douglas, sisters Darlene Gates, Marilyn Marchet and Bonita  Clifton. He was preceded in death by his son Harley. In 1974 Bill owned and operated the Radio Shack in Alamosa, leaving in 1981 to continue his career in electronics. Bill was a retired Hi-Tech Packaging Engineer having worked for Honeywell, Atmel, NCR and AT&T. He was an expert authority on western history and contemplated writing a book about Wyatt Earp and Doc Holiday. He had a knack for remembering song lyrics to those golden oldies. His favorite past time was traveling in his motorhome with his wife and dog Beau.  He will be missed.

Services will be in Colorado Springs at Evergreen Funeral Home on Friday, October 13, 2017, at 2 p.m.
