SAN LUIS VALLEY -- Wildwood Sounds will be presenting Don Richmond, Robin James, and Just Magic in an online fundraising concert on Saturday, April 17 at 6:00 pm to keep Wildwood alive and serving our communities! The concert will stream on the Wildwood Sounds Facebook page and on Don Richmond’s profile page.

It’s been over a year since Del Norte’s beautiful performance space Wildwood Sounds has been able to have a live concert. In order to keep functioning as the gathering spot and presenter of great music that it has been for many years, Stephen and Konnie at Wildwood are needing to find new ways to fund their lovely venue, and have decided to turn it into a combined Air BnB and performance space, continuing to present a few events a month to the public, while renting the facility out to visitors in between. In order to begin this new phase, they need to do some remodeling to make it all work. And in order to do the remodeling, they need to raise about $5000.00.

Don Richmond, based just outside of Alamosa, where he and his wife Teri McCartney run the Howlin’ Dog recording studio, has been playing professionally for more than 50 years. His multi-instrumental skills and production capabilities have been part of hundreds of local, regional, and national recordings. Don performs both solo and with the New Mexico based trio The Rifters, as well as serving as an accompanist for many artists he has produced and others coming through the area. Richmond has been recording a new solo album this year, to be released in early summer, and will be featuring new songs from the project.

Valley favorite Robin James also has a new recording to be released this year, featuring her trademark soaring, soulful vocals and her evocative and perceptive songwriting, and will be sharing songs from her new work as well as from her previous two albums.

Stephen and Konnie of Wildwood don’t just present music, they are also fine performers and songwriters in their own right, performing as Just Magic. They will open the show with a few of their beautiful selections.

Richmond remarks, “I know we all love Wildwood, and want it to keep being the sweet gathering spot it has been for many years and to keep bringing great music into our communities. So I’m hoping you can join us Saturday, and keep Wildwood alive!” The concert featuring Don Richmond, Robin James, and Just Magic is Saturday April 17 at 6:00 pm and will be streaming on Don Richmond’s Facebook profile and the Wildwood Sounds Facebook page.
