Weekends on the Rio begins on Sunday, June 25th

ALAMOSA — The first Weekends on the Rio day of events is set for Sunday, June 25th! Join in a day full of outdoor fun at Cole Park, Rio Grande Farm Park, and on the Rio Grande. There are activities for all ages and ability levels. Kids can track their participation using our passports for a chance to win some awesome prizes at the end of the summer. Passports are available the day of or from partner locations listed on the website.

The day will begin at 11:30 a.m. with an outdoor story time at the Rio Grande Farm Park—meet there or at the pedestrian bridge to walk over. Next is Zumba at 1 p.m. at Cole Park, Yoga from Cairn Yoga at 2 p.m., and from 3-6 p.m. join Adams State Adventure Programs on the Rio with stand up paddle boarding. At 3:30 p.m. there will be a bike pump track workshop at the north end of Cole Park, and at 4:30 p.m. the local Walk2Connect group, Caminos del Valle, will lead a walk starting and ending at the Sundays at Six stage.

Stick around for the main event at 6 p.m.—the Alamosa Live Music Association’s Sundays at Six concert: Indian Nickel! There will be some fun new kid’s activities during the concert’s intermission.

Weekends on the Rio will be held most Sundays throughout the summer. For more information visit www.weekendsontherio.com, stop into 412 State Avenue, or find us on Facebook for weekly updates.
