Vintage Chevrolet Club visits Alamosa this week

ALAMOSA — Approximately 35 to 40 vintage Chevrolets are perusing the streets of Alamosa this week as the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America (“VCCA”) visits this area of Colorado.

The VCCA is conducting its 12th Annual Southwest Fall Tour/13th Annual Western Early Six Tour in Alamosa September 18-23. This annual club event consists of members’ Chevrolet vehicles dating from 1912 through 1954 and is held in various locations throughout the Southwest. This year, members will be coming from all different areas of the United States; including locations as far away as Illinois, Texas, Washington, Utah, Arizona, California and more.

During the event, each day the group tours out in their old Chevys to explore the countryside of the San Luis Valley and ride the Rio Grande Scenic Railroad. For more than a decade, the tour’s hosts have attempted to visit local areas of interest throughout the Western United States and often includes a local train ride for its members as a part of the annual event.

Alamosa was chosen this year because of its charm and beauty.
