Victoria C. Ortiz

CAPULIN — Capulin resident Victoria C. Ortiz, 89, passed away on Dec. 22, 2019, at the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center in Alamosa, surrounded by her loving family.

Victoria was born Dec. 17, 1930, in Caplulin, the daughter of Ramon Atencio and Sara Valdez Atencio. Victoria was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who enjoyed shopping, traveling, playing board games, cooking, baking, sewing and was an avid Bronco fan. Her greatest joy in life came from the time she spent with her family and friends. She will live on through her children Lori (Louis) Ortiz-Trujillo and Audrey Ortiz, both of Monte Vista, Dwight (Elma) Ortiz of Oak Harbor, Wash., and Joe Ortiz of Capulin; grandchildren Ashley Trujillo, Tracey (Kameron) Romero, Kevin Ortiz, Lucas Ortiz, Lindsey Ortiz, Alyssa Ortiz, Sarah (Kreston) Albright, Daniel Ortiz, James Ortiz and Kristina Ortiz. She is also survived by 12 great-children and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Victoria was preceded in death by her parents Ramon Atencio and Sara Atencio, sisters Sevia Muniz and Eloisa Marquez, brothers Isadore and Louis Atencio.

A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Friday, Dec. 27, 2019, at 7 p.m. at the Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Capulin. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019 at 10 a.m. also at the Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Capulin.
