Veterans from left John Betz, Dorothy Brandt, Mac McFadden and Richard Gottlieb celebrate Dorothy’s 90th birthday on Friday with a reception at the Colorado State Veterans Center, Homelake. Dorothy was underage when she entered military service during World War II. She and her late husband John, also a veteran, retired to the San Luis Valley where they continued to serve in a variety of ways including efforts for veterans and the San Luis Valley Museum. Many friends joined Dorothy in celebrating her 90th on Friday.
