ALAMOSA — Thirty-two shooters competed for the $500 added 8 ball tournament this past weekend at the Bankshot Sports Bar in Alamosa. The shooters competed on seven foot Diamond bar tables. This is the tenth year of the event with shooters coming in from Denver all the way to Albuquerque to compete.

Winning the Saturday event was Brian Begay from Farmington. Begay went undefeated all the way to the hot seat. Dave Jaramillo battled his way through the consolation bracket defeating Alex Acosta from Albuquerque 4-3 to play for the championship. Jaramillo won the first set 5-3 but Begay had everything working from his break to his cue ball, playing excellent position to win the second set 4-2 and the tournament. Begay was awarded $600 for his excellent shooting.
