VALLEY — Valley-Wide Health Systems is pleased to welcome Dr. Jim Do and Dr. Alexandra King to its family medicine practice at Alamosa Family Medical Center. Dr. Do and Dr. King are Alamosa Rural Training Track Residents and are open to receive new patients of all ages from newborns to the elderly.

Dr. Jim Do

Dr. Do is a graduate of the University of Colorado School of Medicine. A Colorado native, Dr. Do grew up in Westminster and attended the University of Colorado for undergraduate education.  Dr. Do has experience in mixed martial arts and also has a passion for helping others.

“I chose Family Medicine because I love every aspect of the training and wanted to see a variety of patients from all backgrounds,” Dr. Do explained. “My passion while in school was helping the underserved and I knew the Southern Colorado Family Medicine/Alamosa Rural Training Track residency would be the best fit.”

In his free time, Dr. Do enjoys cooking, writing, and playing with his two fluffy dogs.

Dr. Alexandra King

Dr. King attended medical school at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona. Prior to attending medical school, she spent one year in Albuquerque helping individuals with developmental disabilities before working at a senior assisted living facility. Originally from Vermont, Dr. King attended Middlebury College for her undergraduate studies.

Upon completion of her residency, Dr. King plans on practicing family medicine in a rural, underserved area and is therefore looking forward to the experience this residency will bring.

“I chose family medicine because I believe it is the core of medicine – long-term, full-spectrum primary and preventative care,” Dr. King explained. “I enjoy the opportunity to see patients of all ages and address their varying health concerns.”

Dr. King is also an avid traveler and enjoys cooking, hiking, and spending time with her husband, Rory and cat, Trooper.
