Neighbor to Neighbor / The Chaffee Shuttle is pleased to announce a new Thursday shuttle route in the San Luis Valley called “The Pronghorn” from South Fork to Alamosa via Center, Colorado.

The route will do a pick up at the Visitor’s Center every Thursday in South Fork at 8:15 then head east on highway 160 stopping in Del Norte, on to Monte Vista, up highway 285 to highway 112 in to Center, on to Hooper, and down highway 17 in to Alamosa! It will then make a return trip backtracking the same route leaving Alamosa at 2:00 p.m.

“We are trying to connect the San Luis Valley rural areas that have been determined to be below poverty level. A recent study identified that there are many families in the SLV that have transportation barriers preventing them access to much needed healthcare appointments, obtaining household item necessities, and educational/employment opportunities. Some households are just one-car families as well.”

“As of now, we are in the process of getting the word out to human service agencies, hospitals and clinics, and employers who have staff with transportation issues. With Valley Wide Health Systems creating on-call / on-demand transit in the cities of Alamosa & Monte Vista we believe we can offer up additional transportation alternatives.”

To confirm your ride feel free to contact our driver, Richard Duran at 719-530-1167 or contact The Chaffee Shuttle directly at 719-530-8980.
