Thrillers featured in library sale

ALAMOSA — Rock ‘em, sock ‘em thrillers in the war and spy section at Spines will be on special at the Friends of the Alamosa Library July 8th sale, two for the price of one. Favorite authors such as Ken Follett, Clive Cussler, Daniel Silva, Patrick O’Brien, and many others are among the choices for a good summer read.

The sale will be at Spines, north of the Post Office and west of the skate park, on Saturday, July 8th, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Look for the bright new mural where Hemingway, once the library cat, is making his selections of classics to read.

Folks may also want to check the free table for a variety of cookbooks, novels, and other materials culled from the shelves this month.

Profits from the Spines’ sales benefit the library’s unfunded and underfunded programs. The group also sees that the Little Free Libraries around Alamosa are stocked, and the Friends provide books for the Story Time on the Rio, nursing homes, and literacy programs.

Donations of books may be made at the sale or at the library during regular business hours. Those wishing to become a Friend or volunteer for the sale may contact Allyn Lewis at 719-588-9410.
