This past week's On the Mat wrestling rankings

ALAMOSA – Tim Yount released his weekly On the Mat high school wrestling rankings on Thursday.

Class 3A

Alamosa

In Class 3A, Alamosa remained at No. 10. Eaton is ranked first, followed by Moffat County, Mullen, Platte Valley, Valley, Bennett, Jefferson, Severance, Weld Central and Alamosa.

The Mean Moose have five ranked individual wrestlers. Trevor Maestas  is second at 132 pounds and Dempsey Gibbs is third at 113.

The remaining ranked Alamosa wrestlers include Dante Gonzales, who is sixth at 160, Dario Valdez, who is eighth at 120, and Dyson Woodward who is eighth at 106.

Class 2A

In Class 2A, Centauri is second in the team standings, following Buena Vista.

The rest of the Class 2A team rankings include Cedaredge in third, followed by Wray, Mancos, Highland, Meeker, Crowley County, Rocky Ford and Wiggins.

Centauri

Centauri has nine wrestlers in the rankings which include Erik Mestas (170) and Riley Valdez (113) who are both at the top of their respective weight divisions. Eyan Chavez (152) and Mario Vigil (120) are both second.

The rest of the ranked Falcons include Josh Polkowske, who is third at 160, Byron Shawcroft who is fourth at 195, Zach Buhr, who is sixth at 182, Matthew Salazar, who is seventh at 106, and Cyrus Sandoval, who is seventh at 138.

Center

Center has two ranked individuals in Jordan Duran, who is fourth at 106, and Jesus Valadez, who is 13th at 182.

Del Norte

Malachi Gallegos is Del Norte sole ranked wrestler as he is third at 120 pounds.

Monte Vista

Three Monte Vista grapplers are in the rankings including DeAngelo Archuleta, who is second at 145, Nathaniel Juarez, who is fourth at 126, and Damian Lopez, who is ninth at 132.

Sargent

Sargent has one ranked wrestler in Trenton Lovelace, who is seventh at 220 pounds.

Sierra Grande/Centennial

The Sierra Grande/Centennial co-op also has one ranked wrestler in C.J. Nix, who is ninth at 195 pounds.
