Theresa Janet Casias

LOBATOS — Florida, former Lobatos resident Theresa Janet Casias, went to her eternal rest on Nov. 4, 2019.

Theresa was born on Nov. 26, 1960 in La Jara, the daughter of Vernal and Martha Casias.

After graduating high school, Theresa went on to serve and was a veteran of the United States Army.

Theresa was a kind and selfless person. She loved watching sports, traveling, going fishing and camping and doing yard work and landscaping.

Her greatest joy in life came from the time she spent with her family, friends and her beloved dogs.

Survivors include her parents Vernal and Martha Casias of Romeo; sisters Betty Casias of Capulin; Amy Casias of Romeo; Addie Casias of Sanford; brothers Paul Casias of Romeo; Michael Casias of Debary, Fla.; Patrick Casias of Sanford; and Steve Casias of Denver.

She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Theresa was preceded in death by her three brothers, Nemecino Casias, Robert Casias and Johnny Casias; as well as both her maternal and paternal grandparents.

A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019 at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Conejos. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Monday, Nov. 25, 2019 at 11  a.m., also at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Lobatos Cemetery.
