The 'exploding' middle class lecture planned for April 11

ALAMOSA—Adams State University Dr. Michael Tomlin promises to make the truth about the middle class “perfectly, precisely, and outstandingly clear.” His Faculty Lecture The Exploding Middle Class: Everything you read about it shrinking is wrong!, begins at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, in McDaniel Hall room 101.

According to Tomlin, professor of management, we know to never believe the government, politicians, or economists – about anything…so who can we believe? The Republicans just won an election with a campaign based on jobs and the “shrinking middle class.” The Democrats just lost an election with a campaign that hid from the Obama economy. And news report after news report tells tales of woe about that middle class, or what is left of it.

“They are all wrong,” Tomlin added. “So how do we know who to believe or what numbers to trust? The answer is simple – follow the right labor and economic indicators and you will discover the truth. It all boils down to garage door openers, flat-screen televisions, RV’s (Recreational Vehicles) and golf courses.”

All ASU Faculty Lectures in the series are free and open to the public. Complimentary light refreshments will be offered. For further information on the series of lectures, contact Dr. Courtney Allen, assistant professor of counselor education, at 719-587-7888 or [email protected].
