Tamaria Rae Parrill, 66

Tamaria Rae Parrill, 66, of Alamosa, CO passed away on August 31, 2018 at SLV Health in Alamosa surrounded by her loving family after a battle with breast cancer.

Tammy was born on June 15, 1952 in Denver, CO to William Raymond Purdue and Dixie Lee Shaffer. She moved to Alamosa after graduating from Arvada West High School to attend Adams State College. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology in 1974. Tammy enjoyed shopping for sales and finding the best bargains. She also enjoyed doing puzzles, caring for her dogs, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Tamitsa, as her daughter called her, is survived by her children Aaron (Latisha) Parrill and Ashley Vigil of Alamosa, her grandchildren Hailynne, Addyson, and Aleczander Parrill and Connor and Parker Vigil of Alamosa, along with Chloe Wright of Golden, CO. She is also survived by her mother, Dixie Ballard, her sister Rickie (Jerry) Steinman, and her sister-in-law Sandi Purdue all of Northglenn, CO., her nieces and nephews Bryce Howard of Northglenn, CO, Briana (Jimmy) Laferty of Westminster CO, Bryan Purdue of Thornton, CO, and Brittainy (Robert) Medrano of Brighton CO, her aunt Donna Sorenson of Arvada, CO, as well as many cousins, great nieces and nephews, and friends she has touched over the years.

She is preceded in death by her father, William Purdue, sister Sharon Purdue, brother Perry Purdue, and her stepfather David Ballard.

A special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff in the Oncology/Infusion Center, Med. Surg., and ICU at SLV Health for the amazing care given to Tammy during her illness.

Cremation was chosen, and a memorial in Tammy’s honor will be held at Romero Funeral Home in Alamosa on Friday September 7, 2018 at 1 PM.
