Suspect arrested in Alamosa shooting

ALAMOSA—A suspect has been arrested in the Saturday night shooting of a man in Alamosa.

On Monday, officers with the Alamosa Police Department (APD) took Jaycee Holman, 27, of Alamosa into custody and transported him to the Alamosa County Detention Center. Holman, accused of shooting an unidentified victim in the leg, was charged with 1st degree assault, a third class felony, felony menacing, a fifth class felony, prohibited use of a weapon, disorderly conduct and reckless endangerment.

As was reported in the Courier, on Saturday night, APD officers were dispatched to the 800 block of 10th Street for a reported shooting. Upon arrival, a male victim was found suffering from an apparent gunshot to the leg and was subsequently treated at the Alamosa emergency room for a non-life-threatening injury.

Officers and detectives processed the scene. Following several days of gather information and following all leads, the arrest was made.
