Strauss graduates from leadership program class

SAGUACHE – Nonprofit executive leader from Saguache, Megan Strauss, recently graduated from Community Resource Center’s Nonprofit Leadership & Management Program in Denver and has returned to the San Luis Valley prepared to use her experience to better her nonprofit, Alpine Achievers Initiative and her community.

Along with 22 other new and emerging nonprofit leaders from across Colorado, Strauss completed the nine-month program and expanded her leadership capabilities as well as discovered new management techniques. Participants cultivated meaningful, professional relationships by engaging with their peers during bi-monthly professional development sessions in Denver and three-day retreat in Breckenridge. Strauss was one of 12 leaders selected by the Anschutz Family Foundation to receive a generous scholarship to participate in the program.

Speaking to her experience in the program Strauss said, “I’ve made invaluable connections through the CRC Leadership & Management Program. It’s been a great way to share resources such as policy documents, human resource practices and just general advice. Everyone is happy to support one another which has been incredibly refreshing.”

As a graduate of the program, Strauss joins a network of more than 700 nonprofit professionals who have participated over the past 27 years. These individuals and their experiences offer invaluable resources to participants. Graduates of the program provide continuing opportunities for professional development and networking to further their development as leaders.

If you are interested in a dynamic leadership experience similar to hers and are interested in joining an extensive network of nonprofit professionals, consider applying to be a part of the 2018 leadership cohort for the Nonprofit Leadership & Management Program.
