South Fork hosts Chili Cook Off

SOUTH FORK — The South Fork Annual Chili Cook Off will be held at the South Fork Fire Station from 5-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 11th.

Everyone is invited to come out and have some fun tasting and voting on the best chili in South Fork.

There are three categories which include red chili, green chili and salsa. Contestants will be dressed and tables decorated to express this year’s theme of “Make Me Sweat.”

Additional contestants may join in the fun. First place in each category pays $150, second place $75. Anyone interested in participating can contact the South Fork Visitor Center at 719-873-5512 or [email protected]

For the visitors, hunters and residents come and mingle, enjoy the chili tasting and round out the evening with dessert provided by the Chapel of the South Fork.

In addition, the Department of Parks and Wildlife and the Forest Service will be available to answer any last minute questions for hunters before the Saturday morning opening of hunting season.

All proceeds from the sale of desserts, pies cookies brownies etc. … will be donated to a fallen first responders charity TBD. Sponsors include the Chapel of the South Fork and the Town of South Fork.

Tickets to enjoy the chili cost $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 12 and under. Free hotdogs will be available for kids.
