Society Hall hosts Pint & A Half for CD release show

ALAMOSA—Society Hall, at 400 Ross Avenue in Alamosa, is proud to present the Salida duo Pint & A Half in concert, with special guests Don Richmond and Jahil Bragassa on Saturday, April 8th at 7:30 p.m., celebrating the release of their already highly acclaimed new CD “Boomtown Ghosts.” Salida guitarist and singer-songwriter Chris Nasca will open the show. Doors will open at 6:30. Tickets are $15 in advance, or $20 at the door, and are available online at www.societyhall.org, or in Alamosa at the Green Spot.

Pint & A Half is Duke and Tami Sheppard, who have been taking their brand of high-energy yet thoughtful Americana/Alt-Country out into the world for several years with great success, first regionally, and now garnering national attention in such highly respected music magazines as No Depression, which has this to say about their new Boomtown Ghosts release - “The husband-and-wife duo have quickly gained access to full alt-country credentials. This is an album that will speak to people in a way they haven’t yet heard.”

Joining Duke and Tami will be Don Richmond, Alamosa-based musician and record producer, who recorded and co-produced the new CD, playing a few different instruments, and Jahil Bragassa on bass guitar.

No Depression adds, regarding the new CD, “It is unusual to find a small-town independent artist who can pull off such a nuanced and impressive theme album as well as such a quality production. This album should earn a place in the CD changer or playlist for every drive long enough to listen to its entirety. But be careful. These songs will imprint very quickly in your mind because they feel like moments you’ve experienced yourself. Pint and a Half just does them better for you.”
