VALLEY — It was a flurry of shopping, checking the list twice, and wrapping at SLV Health over the past two weeks.

The employees stepped up to show their true spirit of giving, right on the heels of successful food and coat drives. This was the third time that SLV Health took on the “Adopt a Local Family” service project.

This year it included a new list: several SLV Health employee families. Individuals along with teams from many departments donated Christmas gifts to over 32 families from Adelante, Kid’s Place (Mary Hennessy), and SLV Health. Toys were also collected for 15 PALS kids.

Nicole Clark spoke on behalf of the Kid’s Place families, “We cannot thank you enough! We were completely overwhelmed today with the generosity toward our families.”

When the leaders from the organizations came to pick up the gifts for delivery, Sydney from the Adelante program thanked the SLV Health representatives by saying, “For some of our clients, the holidays can add financial worry and extra stress when they are barely making it from paycheck to paycheck. Knowing that their kids will have an exciting time opening gifts will bring them relief and joy.”
