SLV commissioners postpone 2019 budget approval

ALAMOSA-The San Luis Valley Commissioners Association postponed the approval of their 2019 budget on Monday.

Rio Grande County Commissioner Karla Shiver pointed out that many of the counties within the association had not had the chance to review and approve their individual budgets and that it would be wise to do so before approval of a larger budget.

Conejos County Commissioner John Sandoval pointed out that Conejos County was still in the process of finalizing the amount that it would contribute to the District Attorneys Office. All counties were in agreement on this issue and postponement was approved unanimously.

Other items addressed at the meeting included updates from the San Luis Valley Ecosystem Council, the San Luis Valley Tourism Association, and the San Luis Valley Museum Association.

The finalization of the budget is expected to be complete by the October 29th meeting.
