Sinclair’s work published

ORANGE CITY, Iowa—Alissa Sinclair, a student at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, is among 24 students who have had their writing or artwork published in Northwestern’s literary arts magazine, Spectrum. The annual publication, sponsored by the English department, includes a selection of poetry, fiction, literary nonfiction and artwork, chosen by a panel of students.

Sinclair is a May graduate and art and elementary education major at Northwestern College. Her artwork, “Heart of the Mountains” and “Distant,” were published in Spectrum.

Sinclair is the daughter of Matt and Eva Sinclair of Alamosa.

Winners from each category are determined through judging by an outside author. The judge this year was Luke Hawley, associate professor of English at Dordt College and author of “The Birth of Birds” and “The Northwoods Hymnal.”

Northwestern College is a Christian college of more than 1,250 students in Orange City, Iowa.
