Silver Thread Tour seeks artists

SOUTH FORK—The Silver Thread Studio tour is coming up on Aug. 12, and they’re always looking for more artists to participate, especially in South Fork. Show everyone how many wonderfully talented and creative local people there are. Whether a new artist or one with national recognition, this is a great chance to shine.

People really like to see how and why art is created, so be prepared to do a lot of talking. Of course, there should also be a variety of work available for sale.

So what kind of artists are they looking for? The answer is any kind. Some examples are painting, jewelry, pottery, glass blowing, stained glass, photography, wood carving, papermaking, sculpture, wind chimes, deer skin, rocks, furniture, ceramics and fiber arts such as quilting, weaving, spinning yarn, knitting, felting and various surface design techniques.

Artists can participate at home, in a studio or in the gallery that exhibits and sells  their work. The location must be either in South Fork or Creede or in between them, and then past Creede along Highway 149 up to The Studios at Bristol and anywhere along the way. Participants must be either a full or part-time resident in these areas. For information and applications, please call either Ed Knight at 658-0182, Darlene Danko at 873-9847 or the Creede Arts Council at [email protected]. The application deadline is May 15.
