MONTE VISTA — The Board of Directors of Rio Grande Savings and Loan has announced the appointment of Shon Davis as president and chief executive officer of the Monte Vista-based thrift.

“We’re delighted to have someone with Shon’s reputation and experience in banking join our team,” said Rio Grande Board Chairman Don Vigil, “not to mention his close ties to the communities of the San Luis Valley.”

A Valley native and graduate of Metro State University of Denver where he studied communications, Davis brings more than 20 years of San Luis Valley banking experience to Rio Grande.

“I’m very happy for this opportunity to be a part of an institution with Rio Grande Savings’ history and culture,” Davis said, “and I’m looking forward to working with the amazing staff.”
