Sharron Lee McAlear, 77

Alamosa resident Sharron Lee McAlear, 77, died March 27, 2017 at the San Luis Care Center in Alamosa, in which she was a resident of more than eight years.

Sharron’s life began in Casper, Wyoming on October 4, 1939, the loving daughter of Vern and Frances Vivian Prime. She married George Grover McAlear, Sr., on January 11, 1971 in Brighton, Colorado.  He preceded her in death on December 25, 2006.

Sharron loved to paint and work on puzzle books. She loved playing BINGO at the care center with the residents there and she earned the affectionate title of “BINGO Queen”.  She always had candy to give to the kids when they visited her.

She is survived by her children Anna (Jim) Bradley of Blanca, Marleena Robinson of Colorado Springs, CO, Vivian Jones of Blanca, George (Vicky) McAlear, Jr. of Alamosa, and Julie (David) Pommerville of Wheat Ridge, CO; her grandchildren Michael Leslie, Jr., Amanda Leslie, Ivan (Janel) Bradley, Walker McAlear, Bianca Kuhns, Estrella Kuhns, Josh Mershon, Jimmy Bradley, Jr. and Charles Bradley; her great grandchildren: Christopher Michael Leslie, Mason, Sebastian and Preston, Trevor Leslie, Kalob Ray Leslie, Kallistah and Joey, Richie Locke, Brett Locke, Katelyn Locke, Francisco and Aiden Bradley; her niece Theresa McAlear and nephew Russell (Kelly) McAlear, Jr.; as well as numerous extended family and friends.

Sharron is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her grandchildren Kandi Locke & Christin Turner.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alamosa. Interment will follow services in the Alamosa Cemetery.
