San Luis Valley welcomes first baby of 2018

Theresa Trujillo, far right, lovingly cradles the San Luis Valley’s first baby of 2018, Daniel Lee Coblentz, whom she has helped care for since his birth at SLV Health Monday night. Daniel was born at 11:35 p.m. on January 1. He weighed 8 pounds 7 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long. Their first child, Daniel is the son of Melvin and Mary Coblentz of rural Monte Vista. Daniel was about a week overdue but just on time to ring in the New Year.
