Center resident Salomon Jaramillo Jr., 92 was called home on May 4, 2023. He passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Center, Colo., on Dec. 10, 1930, Salomon was the beloved son of Salomon Jaramillo Sr., and Flora Luna Jaramillo. After graduating from Center High School, Salomon was united in marriage to Maria Ora Garcia on Nov. 18, 1950. They shared a happy and loving union until her passing last year. He worked for and retired from the Lumber Yard in Center. He was their manager and loved to interact with the customers who came in as well as other members of the community. In his free time, Salomon enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, fishing and going camping. His greatest joy in life came from the time he spent with his children, grandchildren, family and friends. Salomon was an exceptional man, and he will be dearly missed.

Salomon was preceded in death by his parents, love of his life Maria Jaramillo, four children Raymond Jaramillo, Kenny Jaramillo, Cleo Estrada, Florence Rael, brothers Felipe, Nabor and Leroy Jaramillo.

His memory will live on through his children James (Pat) Jaramillo of Lafayette, Colo.; Larry Jaramillo of Center, Colo.; Fran Trujillo of Westminster, Colo.; Maria Chavez of Center, Colo.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.

Vigil Service will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023, at 7 p.m. at St. Frances Jerome Catholic Church in Center. Mass of the Resurrection will be on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 11 a.m. also at St. Frances Jerome Church. Interment will follow at La Garita Cemetery.
