ALAMOSA — Rose Marie Mendosa, 79, went home to be with the Lord on June 1, 2020, peacefully at her home with her loving husband and daughter Amanda by her side. Rose came into the world on September 19, 1940, in Las Cruces, New Mexico, the daughter of Jose M. Trujillo and Maria Adella Pelon Trujillo.
United in marriage to Arthur Mendosa in August of 1979. She devoted her life to caring for her family, Rose was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who enjoyed cooking, doing crossword puzzles, watching western movies, going for drives and above all spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur Louis Mendosa of Alamosa; daughters, Mary (Carlos) Lopez, Donna Mendosa, Amanda Mendosa all of Alamosa; Patricia Gurule of Romeo; Brenda (Emery) Lucero of Pueblo; Naomi Mendosa of Denver; sons, Nicholas (Brenda) Mondragon, Jesse Mondragon (Robert Johnson), Gerald (Rita) Lobato all of Antonito; Gabriel (Barbara) Lobato of Denver; Don Mendosa of Alamosa;
24 grandchildren, 22 greatgrandchildren, sisters Sandra Hernandez, Theresa (Phillip) Trujillo both of Antonito; brothers, Ray (Lourdes) Trujillo of Alamosa; Albert Trujillo of Denver; and Leroy Trujillo of Antonito.
She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Maria Trujillo; son, David Floyd; sister, Brenda Jacquez; brother, George Trujillo; grandchildren, Susie GuruleEspinoza; Alexandra Mondragon and Brian Mondragon.
