Game 1: Salida downs Rookies

Friday was a long day for Rookies as it fell to Salida 8-2. Salida captured the lead in the first inning. TJ Peters homered on a 1-1 count in the first inning, scoring one run.

Salida took the lead for good with five runs in the third inning. In the third Nico Granzella doubled off of Landry Roles, driving in two runs and Nash Hahn singled off of Roles, driving in one run.

Landry Roles and Hayden Shawcroft each collected one hit to lead Rookies.

Salida collected nine hits. Peters and Granzella each collected multiple hits for Salida. Salida was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Hahn had the most chances in the field with eight.

Game 2: Rookies win over Salida

Rookies jumped out to an early lead over Salida and took home a 7-2 victory on Friday. Rookies took the lead on a single in the first inning.

Rookies captured the lead in the first inning. Landry Roles singled on a 1-2 count in the first inning, scoring two runs.

Landry Roles and Kade Jones each drove in two runs to lead Rookies. Rookies was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Jones made the most plays with five as the Rookies turned 2 double plays.

Darin Barrows was the winning pitcher.
