Robert “Bob” Lee McMichael, 77

Alamosa resident Robert “Bob” Lee McMichael, 77, passed away February 5, 2019 peacefully at his home under Hospice Care with his loving family by his side. Bob was welcomed into the world on April 15, 1941 in Eads, Colorado, the beloved son of Charles McMichael and Donna Jefferies McMichael. Bob was the most kindhearted and loving person. He was a friend to everyone he met. He worked as a service attendant for many years where he became well known in the community. Bob was a selfless and exceptional husband, both mother and father to his children, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who enjoyed working with horses, and he loved the time he was able to spend with all his family and friends. Bob left a lasting impression on all he met and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his wife Kimberly Martinez of Alamosa, CO; daughters Cynthia Cordova, Donna (Tommy) Maestas both of Alamosa, CO; Tina (Tad) Leggett of Bandera, TX; Nicole Martinez (Keith Rousey) of Alamosa, CO; sons Rodney (Michelle) McMichael of Gilcrest, CO; Sidney Martinez (Kolby Carcel) of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren LaKayla McMichael (Mike White), Annette (Bryan) Cortez, Morgan Slocum, Jaycie Slocum, Tasha Bertsch, Brandon Bertsch (Miranda Glowczewski), Taylor Bertsch,  Jennifer McMichael (James Kalana), Nichole (Robbie) Hopper, Brittany Maestas (Nakita Archuleta), Tommy Maestas (Sheridan Van Hoose), Tiffany Leggett (Oscar Quiraz), Travis Leggett, Trevor Leggett, Emma Rousey, Kiera Rousey, Jason Jackson, Ayvah Martinez, 13 great-grandchildren, sisters Marilyn (Robert) Hopkins of Dodge City, KS; Sherill (Terry) Hofmeister of Amherst, CO; Shirley Moore (Ken Specht) of Lamar, CO; brothers Dallas McMichael of Laurel Hills, FL and Harold McMichael of Oregon, IL. Bob is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Donna McMichael and his grandson Casey Bertsch.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Alamosa Christian Church located at 410 McQuerry Street, Alamosa, CO. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
