Rio Grande National Forest offices providing services with limited hours

MONTE VISTA – The Rio Grande National Forest (RGNF) will continue offering limited office hours for in-person services in 2021. Through guidance from federal and state health authorities, we have implemented several procedures and protocols to protect the health and safety of employees and members of the public. The limited hours at each office differ and visitors are encouraged to call our offices before arrival.

“We are grateful to our communities for their flexibility in our services over the past year,” said Forest Supervisor, Dan Dallas. The RGNF is asking customers to plan ahead, especially for firewood permits, since they may not be available at all times. “We look forward to providing our services during 2021 as we strive for more normal operations,” Dallas said.

Customers needing information, firewood permits, maps, or to talk with our staff are encouraged to call the following phone numbers, during regular business hours, for prompt customer service. While not all services are available at every office, our Visitor Information Specialists will try to accommodate requests using our available resources and can determine a plan to best serve each customer’s needs.
