Raymond Roe (DOC) Newman

ALAMOSA — Long-time Alamosa resident, Raymond (Doc) Newman peacefully fell asleep in death April 4, 2021. He was born March 17, 1934, in Alamosa.

He was preceded by his Father, Arnold L. (Jack) Newman and mother,

Betty Jo (Smith) Newman, his sister, Gertrud May Newman Nelson and his niece, Ella Mae Nelson.

Doc was well known as a local Sign Painter and Neon man for 60+ years. He graduated from Alamosa High School Class of 53 and loved to read. He was well known in the community as a hard worker and had a very friendly nature. He always had a joke or funny story to tell all who would listen. His sense of humor will be missed by the many who knew him.

He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on January 1, 1955, in

Craig Colorado. He loved to talk about the Bible and the promises it holds out to mankind. His favorite scripture was John 5:28 and 29 where our

Lord Jesus stated: “Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the Memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out..”

Even though Doc sleeps in death he is waiting for Jesus’ call to come back to life on a global paradise earth. Revelation 21:4 “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more....”
