Ramirez and Zimmerman sign letters of intent

ALAMOSA — On Wednesday two members of Alamosa High School inked the next step in their education. Angelo Ramirez signed on to play football for Adams State University. Tyler Zimmerman signed on the dotted line pledging his bat and glove to Midland University in Fremont, Nebraska. During their time at Alamosa High School both boys were invaluable to the athletic department.

Angelo Ramirez has been incredibly versatile on the football field- rushing, throwing, receiving and tackling all to help his team. Ramirez led the Moose in total yards for the 2016 season with 918 yards, and sacks for the 2017 season. Ramirez may be utilized to help shore up a defense that allowed 45 points per game. Ramirez could also be used to supplement a passing offense that under former head coach Timm Rosenbach earned the number one spot in NCAA Div-II football.

Tyler Zimmermanwill go to Midland University. Zimmerman has been an asset to AHS's baseball team, leading the team in runs and double plays for the 2017 season as well as collecting 49 put outs and  12 stolen bases in his high school career. Zimmerman will be joining a prestigious institution. Midland's Warriors compete in the Great Plains Athletic conference and have qualified for the championship all of the last four years and won in 2014, 2016 and 2017
