Owen Leon McColm III

MOSCA — Mosca resident Owen Leon McColm, III, 17, passed away Nov. 8, 2019 at his home in Mosca.

Owen’s life began on March 15, 2002 in Alamosa. He was born to Billy McColm, Jr. and Vera Poole. He attended school at the Sangre de Cristo schools and loved sports, especially football, track and basketball. He had aspirations of enlisting in the United States Army and proud fully serving his country and then wanted to serve as a police officer or attend law school. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching movies, fishing and camping and most of all spending time with his little sister. He also loved listening to music.

Owen is survived by his parents Billy McColm, Jr. and Amanda McColm and his brothers and sisters: Dustin McColm, Kalie Bolt and Brandie McColm; his grandmothers: Casey Overdick, Marcella Helwig and Leslea McColm; his uncle Patrick Knight; as well as his mother Vera Poole; and numerous aunts, cousins and extended family and friends.

Owen is preceded in death by his grandfather Bill McColm, Sr.; his great-grandparents Jessie Shockey and Owen Leon McColm, Sr.; and his uncle Owen Leon McColm.

A Funeral Service will be held 12 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019 at the Mountain Valley School Auxiliary Gym in Saguache. Cremation will follow services.
