Oscar Orozco

Longtime Alamosa resident Oscar Orozco, 78, passed away December 27, 2021. Oscar was born on December 9, 1943 in Cuauhtemoc Chihuahua, Mexico, the beloved son of Criseldo Orozco and Rosa Gutierrez Orozco. Oscar was united in marriage to Dolores Quintana, the two shared 45 wonderful loving years together. Oscar and Dolores owned and operated Oscar's Restaurant in Alamosa. Oscar was a very humble man, a devoted father and one of the hardest working people you could have known. He enjoyed roasting chili, cooking, making tamales, welding, and using his welding skills to make machines to make it easier to make tamales. Oscar never knew a stranger and became friends with everyone he came across. He will always be remembered for his kind smile he would greet you with and his caring and compassionate nature.

His legacy will live on through his loving wife Dolores Orozco, sons Christopher (Nerissa) Orozco of Alamosa, CO; Anthony Quintana, daughter Beatrice Quintana both of Alamosa, CO; sisters Luzelba Rodriguez of El Paso, TX; Elsa Orozco of Mexico, brothers Miguel Orozco of American Falls, TX, Pascual Orozco of Alamosa, CO. He is also survived by many other extended family members and friends.

Oscar was preceded in death by his parents Criseldo and Rosa Orozco, son Luis Orozco,brother Filiberto Orozco and one sister Irma Chavez.

Cremation was chosen and a Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alamosa. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
