ALAMOSA — The next Adams State University Faculty Lecture Off Country: Resisting Nuclear Armament in the 21st Century, by Taylor Dunne, visiting assistant professor of mass communications, and Eric Stewart, assistant professor of art, begins at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, in McDaniel Hall room 101.

Off Country is a multimedia project that examines, through first person accounts and oral histories, the legacy of the nuclear weapons industry embedded in the landscape of the American Southwest. Off Country’s digital platforms (podcasts, digital archive, documentary and social media) can be used as a tool to preserve untold histories from underrepresented communities and to communicate ideas of social and environmental justice. The goal is to use digital media to advocate for responsible nuclear stewardship, empower and educate local communities and connect activists, community members and generations.
