October menus shared for SLV senior centers

VALLEY — Following are the October menus for the senior centers throughout the San Luis Valley. Reservations are required. Call South Central Colorado Seniors at 589-4511 or sign up at the individual meal sites. All meals are served with 1-percent milk, no trans fat and no salt margarine. Margarine is served with bread products. Menus are subject to change.

Monday, October 16 — Lemon fish, Brussels sprouts, creamy coleslaw, mandarin oranges, whole wheat bread

Tuesday, October 17— Chili relleno casserole, zucchini ole’, plums, whole wheat tortilla

Wednesday, October 18 — Roast turkey, mashed potatoes/gravy, green beans, salad, pineapple, whole wheat roll

Thursday, October 19 — Chicken wrap, whole wheat tortilla, cheese, lettuce, tomato, ranch dressing, 5-way vegetables, half orange, churro

Friday, October 20 — Swiss steak, baked potato, asparagus, fruit cocktail, whole wheat roll

Monday, October 23 — Beef and broccoli stir fry, steamed brown rice, carrots, peaches, whole wheat bread

Tuesday, October 24 — Turkey tetrazzini, Italian green beans, cottage cheese, mandarin oranges, whole wheat bread

Wednesday, October 25 — French dip sandwich with Au Jus, hash brown potatoes, 5-eay vegetables, strawberry applesauce

Thursday, October 26 — Cheese and broccoli soup, chicken salad sandwich on whole wheat bread, half orange, whole wheat crackers

Friday, October 27 — Chicken pot pie, Brussels sprouts, strawberries and cream, whole wheat roll

Monday, October 30 — Chicken cordon bleu, brown rice, seasoned asparagus, mandarin oranges, whole wheat crackers

Tuesday, October 31 — Salisbury steak, hash brown potatoes, side salad, orange frosting/sugar cookies, boo berry gelatin
