National Serger Month Serge-A-Thon set at First Stitches

CANON CITY — April is National Serger Month! First Stitches Quilt Shop at 212 S. 4th St. in Cañon City will be participating in the 5th Annual National Baby Lock Serge-A-Thon, April 29.  The Serge-A-Thon supports the American Patchwork & Quilting’s (APQ) Million Pillowcase Challenge, creating pillowcases that will be donated to local charities.

First Stitches will donate all the pillowcases created on April 29th to Loaves and Fishes Ministry of Fremont County in Cañon City. Loaves and Fishes provides assistance to individuals and families who need help overcoming day to day obstacles allowing them to break the cycle of poverty, addiction, or abuse in their lives.

Enjoy the fun on Saturday, April 29th at First Stitches in Cañon City, where visitors will be able to utilize one of the many easy-to-use Baby Lock Sergers. No serging experience is necessary, just a desire to help a local charity and enjoy a great time. Snacks and refreshments will be served.

Also, during the Serge-A-Thon on April 29th, participants will be able to enter to win one of three Baby Lock Ovation Sergers.
