Nancy Lee Frasier

CENTER — Nancy Lee Frasier, age 71, of Center died Monday, April 15, 2019 at the Rio Grand Hospital in Del Norte.

She was born on Feb. 28, 1948 in Newton, Iowa, to Warren Dale and Wilma Margaret (Hasselman) Hettinger. As a child she moved with her family to the San Luis Valley.

She graduated from Sargent High School in 1966 and attended Adams State College. She married John Gardner and a son, John Robert, was born to this union. They later divorced. Nancy and Richard Allen Frasier were married Jan. 16, 1982. She was a rural letter carrier in the Center area for over 20 years. After retirement she enjoyed cooking. In the summer months she looked forward to puttering about her expansive yard. And the winter months found her creating in her craft room. She enjoyed road trips with friends and delighted in time spent with her two grandsons.

She is survived by her husband, Richard “Dick” Frasier of the home; her son, John of Saguache; and his two sons, John W. and Wyatt B.; by her two brothers, Dale (Beverly) Hettinger of Alamosa and David (Mary) Hettinger of Murphy, N.C.; and her sister, Ruby (Jim) Whitely of Westminster. She was preceded in death by her parents.

She requested cremation and a memorial will be held at a later date.
