Myrt Davis, 72 went to her final hunting grounds April 23, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Dusty, New Mexico on July 31, 1949 to JW & Mary McCracken.

Myrt grew up on the family ranch in Dusty & graduated at the top of her class from a one room schoolhouse. Myrt and her oldest daughter made their home in Belen, NM where she met Tom. They were united in marriage on January 29, 1977 on the family ranch in Dusty.

Myrt was a jack of all trades and a master of them all. From sewing, training race horses, owning and running a bar and restaurant, owning a trucking company and driving her own truck, ranching and farming. She could work most men under the table. She did all of it with a smile on her face and raising a family. Myrt was the glue that held all of it together. She touched so many lives. Her family meant everything to her and her grandkids were the light in her eyes.

Myrt was preceded in death by her folks, JW & Mary McCracken and extended family and friends.

Myrt is survived by her husband Tom of La Jara, daughters Kit (Skip) Hunter of La Jara, Mistri (Ron) Lorentzen of Monte Vista; her grandkids Dalton (Pauline) Davis of La Jara, Trina Hunter of La Jara, Levi Hunter of Albuquerque, NM and Sydney Lorentzen of Monte Vista; her great granddaughter & mini-me Pepper Davis of La Jara; her siblings Tom McCracken, Mae (Everett) Glover, Rie McCracken all of New Mexico; along with numerous family and friends.

Myrt didn’t want any services. Her wishes were to be cremated and take her back to Montana where she longed to be. We will fulfill her wishes.
