Music students present concert tonight at Leon Memorial, ASU

ALAMOSA — Students from the 2017 Mt. Blanca Summer Music Conservatory will be performing a Gala Concert at 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 1st, in the Leon Memorial on the Adams State University campus. In addition to solo numbers, students will also perform in small ensembles pieces they have learned over the past week.

Returning for her third year is Cindy Martin, cello, of Bayfield (parents Bob and Denise Martin).

Second year students are Will Krebs, clarinet, of Alamosa (parent Dawn Krebs); Seanna, Mackey, violin, of Alamosa (parents Christopher and Renee Mackey); and Iava Williams, composition and voice, of Fort Garland (parent Ayesha Williams).

First year students are Oasis Allinger, violin, of South Fork (parent Andrea Allinger); Marshall Hollingsworth, piano and voice, of Alamosa (parent Laticia Hollingsworth), Morgan Hollingsworth, flute and voice, of Alamosa (parent Laticia Hollingsworth), Lauren Manzanares, piano and voice, of Alamosa (parents Mark and Myra Manzanares), Derek Rodriguez, piano, of Alamosa (parent Leticia Rodriguez); Christiana Sutherlin, violin, of Bayfield (parents Mury and Fran Sutherlin).                                      

Faculty for the conservatory are Mathieu D’Ordine (cello), Boulder; Dr. Tracy Doyle (clarinet and flute), Alamosa; Corliss Taylor Dunn (voice), Fort Garland; Sami Froncek (piano), Austin, Texas; Joshua Hill (violin and composition), Phoenix, Arizona; Randy D. Macy (collaborative piano), Fort Garland; Dr. Sarah Off (violin), Phoenix, Arizona; and Dr. Marilyn Clark Silva (marimba), Phoenix, Arizona.

The concert is free and open to the public.
