Museum to host booth at crane fest

MONTE VISTA—The 34th Annual Monte Vista Crane Festival will be held March 10th through the 12th this year. Again this year, the Rio Grande County Museum will be represented with an informational booth in the craft/nature fair in the Ski Hi Building.

Members of the Rio Grande County Museum Staff and the Rio Grande County Museum Board of Directors for the nonprofit organization will be at the booth to explain the functions of the museum and the board and answer questions. Membership forms can be picked up for those who wish to join the non-profit organization to help support the museum.

T-shirts with petroglyphs of the area designed for the museum by Yvonne Halburian of Saguache will also be available. This is a fund raising project with proceeds from the sale of the shirts going toward the purchase new display cases and other Museum projects. Halburian’s work has been on display at the museum over the past several years at various times and she is one of the museum’s strongest supporters.

Stop by the booth and visit. The Crane Festival is an enjoyable way to spend a weekend in Rio Grande County.
