Museum hosts Rockey presentation

SAGUACHE — The Saguache County Museum presents a free Sunday program on August 20th at 1:30 p.m. with Brendon Rockey.

Learn about the history and future of Rockey Farms, which includes a Power Point presentation.

Brendon, and his brother, Sheldon, are the third generation of Rockeys to run Rockey Farms. Learn how they have taken the operation to the next level incorporating innovative sustainable growing practices and new varieties.

They farm seed and specialty potato varieties on 500 acres in Saguache County.

It’s more than growing potatoes. They are changing the way potatoes are grown and shipped with new varieties and new farming processes. They are ensuring that the San Luis Valley will ship the nation’s best potatoes for years to come.

And, they are getting the word out on water–saving farming practices and more.

Refreshments are served after the presentation.

Donations are always accepted.
