Multiple injuries in crash

ALAMOSA — Four area residents were transported for medical treatment following a two-vehicle accident on Highway 160 just west of Alamosa midday on Wednesday.

A van driven by Thomas Burrows, 58, Alamosa, was rear-ended by a Buick Sedan driven by Antoinette Sanchez, 23, of Center, according to Colorado State Patrol Trooper Darrin Rodriguez who investigated the accident. Both vehicles were headed east on Highway 160. When the van slowed to turn into Air Gas, the car ran into the back of it.

Trooper Rodriguez said Burrows, Sanchez and two passengers in Sanchez’s vehicle — her 3-year-old child and 10-year-old brother — were injured in the collision. The 3-year-old suffered the most serious injuries.
Rodriguez said the accident is still under investigation.
