Monte Vista graduate commander of 138th Space Control Squadron

MONTE VISTA —  A ceremony was held to honor the promotion of Stephanie D. Myers to Lieutenant Colonel, United States Air Force, Colorado Air National Guard, June 13. Immediately following her promotion ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Myers took command of the 138th Space Control Squadron at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs. As Commander, she leads 88 military and government civilians in the employment and operation of $55 million space systems and supporting equipment.  The squadron deploys combat operations in support of United States Space Force and United States Space Command missions. The 138th Space Control Squadron also responds to humanitarian homeland security and natural disasters.
Lieutenant Colonel Myers was a 1994 graduate of Monte Vista High School and lives in Colorado Springs with her husband, Craig Myers and son, Noah.  Craig is a retired Master Sergeant and a 1993 graduate of Monte Vista High School.
Proud parents are past valley residents, Mark and Darlene Smith, who now reside in Wister, Oklahoma.  Craig’s parents are Ric and Diane Myers of Monte Vista.
