Merita Faith Johnson

CENTER — A life too soon gone but lived to the fullest.  The peak of her life began just over a year ago as God led Merita and Daniel together. On Sept. 29, 2018 they vowed to share life’s joys and sorrows together never knowing we’d face this sorrow so soon.  They brought joy to each other’s lives as they journeyed together.  Family was precious to Merita.  She accepted Daniel’s family as her own in her kind loving way.

They made their home in a small apartment in Center.  Merita opened her La Aloha Spa to perform therapeutic massage to help change and inspire the lives of all she touched.  She cared deeply about each and every client.   Always with a smile and a laugh, she loved life.

Merita, 33, leaves behind her heart broken husband Daniel Johnson.  Passing with her is their unborn son Sawyer Diesel Johnson, only two months before his much anticipated arrival.  She is also survived by devastated parents Jay and Mary Bullock of Wrens, Ga.; her loving brothers and their families Jeremy and Heidi, Makenzie, Kelly, Dillan and Hudson of Pryor, Okla.; Preston and Carol, Titus, Alexia and Liam of Chico, Calif.; two friends she called sisters JoAnna Klassen Steinbach of Manitoba, Canada and Carolyn Blackmon of Scottsdale, Ariz.   Feeling the tremendous loss with us are her new parents Richard and Janette Johnson of Brookefield, Mo.; brother-in-law Nathan of Finger Lakes, N.Y. and Jennifer of Brooksville, Miss.; grandparents Andy and Brenda Isaac of Mitchell, Ga., Chester and Katy Powell of Waynesboro, Ga., Daniel’s grandmothers Carol Johnson of Macon, Miss., and Frances Johnson of Brooksville, Miss.; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins who loved her dearly and she loved them.  Her gentle loving ways will be sorely missed by all of us.

She is preceded in death by grandfather Jerry Bullock and grandmother Alice Powell.

A visitation will be held at the High Valley Mennonite Church, 45651 County Road E in Center, on Friday, June 28, from 7 to 9 p.m.  A Funeral Service will take place 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 29 also at the High Valley Mennonite Church in Center.  Interment will follow services in the Monte Vista Cemetery.  Contributions are suggested to her Go Fund Me account at www.gofundme.com/f/in-memory-of-merita-faith-bullock.
