MOUNT VERNON, Iowa — Family, friends, and graduates gathered on May 14, Mother’s Day Sunday, to celebrate the Class of 2017 during Cornell College’s 159th annual commencement.

The college conferred degrees on 216 students, including Austin McDonald from Del Norte with a major in Kinesiology-Exercise Science Concentration.
