Mary Beth Jackson Reynolds

Our loving mother, grandmother (Bubber Da), and great grandmother, Mary Beth Jackson Reynolds 82, passed away July 12, 2021 at the Conejos County Hospital in La Jara, CO.  She was born August 10, 1938 in Alamosa, CO the only daughter of William Gilbert Jackson and Ruth Agnes Shawcroft Jackson.  Mary was loved and adored by her parents and older brothers, Ray and Jay Jackson, and she loved and doted on them.

She loved growing up on the Jackson Ranch in Bountiful where she enjoyed a happy childhood. Her favorite companions were her pets.  As a teenager, she moved with her parents to Mesa, AZ where she graduated at the top of her class at Mesa High.

She attended CSU in Fort Collins, and then Brigham Young University where she graduated in 1960.  She worked in Denver, then moved home to date her future husband, Alan Wayne Reynolds.

Alan and Mary were married June 12, 1964 in the Mesa, AZ Temple and made their home in Sanford, CO.  They were blessed with a daughter, Leann (Bradley) Huffaker of Bountiful, CO and four grandchildren, Macy (Colton) Sutherland, Morgan (Payton) Jones, Brendon Huffaker, Keegan Huffaker, and 2 great grandchildren, Creed and Saylor Sutherland. Her family is her greatest joy.

She loved books, music, and the simple things of life. She cared for everything and everyone with respect and to the best of her abilities. She especially loved to visit and help the elderly.  She was a loyal, loving, wonderful friend.

She enjoyed working as a secretary. She rarely applied for a position, but was sought out and referred for her precise and efficient skills.  She retired and spent many years helping care for her grandchildren.

Mary was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she enjoyed serving in numerous callings, especially Ministering, Relief Society, Primary, and working in the Albuquerque Temple.  She always looked for any opportunity to serve, but preferred to remain behind the scenes.

She has endured her final years of illness with dignity, without complaint, and left us as an exemplary lady.

Mary is survived by her Husband Alan, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Georgina Reynolds, brother-in-law Myron Peterson, brother and sister-in-law Jay and Jolene Reynolds, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, twin brothers Jay and Ray Jackson, and her brothers Gene and Lloyd Jackson.

A visitation will be held Thursday, July 22 at the Sanford Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints from 10-11:45 am.  A funeral will follow at 12:00 noon.  Interment will be in the Sanford Cemetery.  We welcome friends and family to join us.
