San Luis resident Martha L. Manzanares, 91, passed away June 30, 2018 at her home under Hospice Care with her loving family by her side. Martha was born on September 28, 1926 in San Acacio, Colorado, the daughter of Matias Lopez and Ursula Garcia Lopez.

Martha was a kind and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who enjoyed cooking, baking, reading and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her daughter Pauline Manzanares of Mesa, AZ; sons Jerry Manzanares of San Luis, CO; Robert Rudolph Manzanares of Arvada, CO; 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, sisters Marina Lopez, Virginia (John) Chavez, both of Denver, CO; Cordelia Myorgia, Theresa (Gene) Madrid, both of Brighton, CO; brother Orlando Lopez of Denver, CO. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents Matias and Ursula Lopez, husband Arturo Manzanares and one son Alfred Manzanares.

A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at Sangre De Cristo Catholic Church. A Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 11:30 A.M. also at Sangre De Cristo Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Los Fuertes Cemetery in San Luis. The care of arrangements have been entrusted to Romero Funeral Home of San Luis. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Sangre De Cristo Building Fund, 511 South.
