Monte Vista resident Marie Emerenciana Romero, 68, passed away April 25, 2017 at her home in Monte Vista, surrounded by her loving family. Marie was born on November 14, 1948 in La Jara, Colorado, the daughter of Silviano Sisneros and Elisaida Montoya Sisneros.

She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who was an avid Denver Bronco fan who enjoyed doing crafts and spending time with her grandchildren and children.

Survivors include Donald Romero of Monte Vista, CO; daughters Angie Romero of Monte Vista, CO; Corrina (Brent) Trujillo of Monte Vista, CO; Heather Fairey of Colorado Springs, CO; Lisa Romero (Rudy Martinez) of Denver, CO; Donna Romero of Monte Vista, CO and Lydia Romero of Monte Vista, CO; brother Jose Silviano “Joe” (Barbara) Sisneros of Oceanside, CA; sisters Cindy (Alan) Romero of La Jara, CO; Becky Romero of La Jara, CO and Sylvia (Nick) Chavez of San Bernadino, CA; grandchildren Jennifer Sisneros, Juli Sisneros, Broedy Sisneros, Duke Velasquez, Phillip LeBlanc, Santana LeBlanc, Isaiah LeBlanc, Estevan Garcia, Elario Garcia, Alexandra Perdue, Nathan Perdue, Joseph Espinoza, Brittaney Espinoza, ChristaJo Arroyo, Gabrielle Martinez, Mario Martinez, Quianah Yellowhorse, Ariana Medina, Eliaz Medina, Julian Rodriguez, Jr., Rosemary Rodriguez, Layla Rodriguez, Masiella Trujillo and Samson Trujillo Jr.  She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews cousins and friends.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Vicky Sisneros and Joanna Sisneros and brother Steven Sisneros.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista. The arrangements have been placed in care of Romero Funeral Home of Monte Vista.
