Lowder returns from LDS mission

MONTE VISTA — Kaitlyn Lowder returned July 4th from serving an 18 month mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

She served in the France Lyon Mission which covered the southern half of France and the French speaking half of Switzerland. Kaitlyn in the daughter of Sheldon and Loretta Lowder from Monte Vista. She is also a 2015 graduate of Sargent High School.

Kaitlyn became fluent in the French language and loved serving the French people. She found them to be very honest and loving. She found them to be a very passionate people who welcomed the missionaries into their lives. Kaitlyn’s goal was to help people grow closer to God by having faith and trust in the Lord. One of her messages to the people was to help them understand that when one makes promises to God, one must do everything to keep those promises. When we strive to be closer to Him, he will bless our lives in many ways. While if France, Kaitlyn was also privileged to witness the building of the beautiful LDS temple in Paris.

Kaitlyn plans to stay in the San Luis Valley the rest of the summer and in the fall attend BYU Idaho to pursue a degree in elementary education.
